HOW WE WORK
Stage 1
Concept Development
A concept is an idea that contextualizes a message in interesting, unique, and memorable ways through both form and design content. It is the process of progressing ideas to solve specified design problems. The concepts are developed in phases, from formless idea to a precise message in an appropriate form with supportive visuals and content.
Ideally, we are trying to develop a concept that provides solutions that communicate effectively on multiple levels, is unique and exciting, and stands out from what others are producing.
Stage 2
Design
‘Deciding on the look and function of a space and creating a series of drawings to translate this to the client’.The design development phase takes the approved conceptual design and develops the plans, elevations and details of the project in conjunction with the client and architect.
The developed detail design stage includes as necessary, furniture/area layouts and samples, photographs or sketches of selected fittings. The colour palette and material palette are also developed during this phase.
Stage 3
Finishes
We pride ourselves in being able to obtain and present a broad spectrum of the most wonderful finishes. The finishes are really the hard landscaping of the project and define the space long before it is decorated or accessorised.
We have an in-depth understanding of the quality required for each project, relative costs and most importantly durability and our close relationship with suppliers enables us to have access to items not usually available to the public.
Stage 4
Documentation
Being creative and able to come up with unique and exciting schemes is only part of our high end offering. We have a thorough understanding and appreciation for providing comprehensive breakdowns of not only the details but also the costs.
We understand that our clients have worked hard for their money and they expect us to treat it with the same care and diligence that they do. As part of our scope of works we include scheme selections sheets covering all aspects of the FF&E.
Stage 5
Consultation
Every step of the way, we liaise and consult with the client on all matters. Our first step is to set up regular client meetings. These take the form of informal discussions on design direction, site progress, meetings with consultants and specialists to look at options, days out to marble yards and wall paper designers and many more.
During the course of the project, all matters are thoroughly discussed and noted. We are happy to work independently or with a client appointed architect to provide tenders for the work and will consult at all levels with specialists and other consultants such as M&E, Electrical, Building Control, Landlord etc.
Stage 6
Site Operations
After months of design, consultation and tender, the project is ready to go to site and this aspect of the project will most likely take the lion’s share of the programme.
We can lead regular site meetings right up to practical completion as far as a soft hand over to the client. During this period, we can prepare and issue further interior design details as reasonably required by the architect or main contractor, that will assist in construction.
Stage 7
Details
The devil is in the detail; it defines the work and sets it apart. Stitching on leather, shadow gaps, bronze trim or cross banded veneer will make just that little bit of a difference to an item that would otherwise be utilitarian.
It will turn a chest of drawers into an artwork or a dining table into a conversation piece, it will never disappoint!
Stage 8
Dressing
This is the final stage in the process, this is where the long months of planning magically come together to create the ultimate scheme. Like the other stages, this one is equally well planned, where the order of works ensures a smooth installation. Art and accessories are chosen as part of the proposal and carefully placed for optimum results.
FP FITOUT has many years of experience in this field and our history with suppliers ensures that the clients benefit from the best possible trade prices.
Stage 9
Delivery
With the project underway, the client can relax as the FP Design Team supervise the production of all the bespoke elements through our trusted workshops while coordinating the delivery of all fixtures, fittings and furniture.
During site visits, we meet with professional consultants to ensure every aspect of the proposal is advancing and review the progress of works to give clients clear and regular updates. All practicalities are taken into account – location of light sockets and switches and integration of the most sophisticated technology etc – all the while, fine tuning the end result.
